Introducing the team! Melanie Stone

July 20, 2026

The Learning Exchange Network is delivered by a team of experienced and friendly staff from The Centre for Effective Services. We thought you’d like to meet them, so you know who to contact for help or information.

First up is the Melanie Stone, who manages the project and ensures we’re all on track.

Melanie has a track record of bringing VCSE organisations together to learn, make useful connections and tell their stories confidently and creatively. Knowing the difference this makes is what made her excited by the prospect of being involved in the Learning Exchange Network. She also leads on CES’s evaluating impact programme and really enjoys seeing people move from feeling overwhelmed to being clear and confident about understanding and demonstrating their project’s impact.

Melanie is a social worker and has worked in the statutory and not-for-profit sectors in Scotland and Northern Ireland for over 30 years. She has a keen interest in helping organisations and teams build the skills and confidence to implement policies and practices that will support meaningful change for individuals, families and communities.

Outside of work, Melanie is a serial hobbyist! She has just finished a joinery night-class and is now the proud owner of a (slightly shoogly) table😊
