Providing implementation support involves working closely with the leaders and staff who deliver services to individuals, families and communities to:
- Assess readiness for implementation
- Build capacity for implementation
- Support them in implementing evidence-informed practices and policies
- Sustain and scale for population impact
When supporting implementation of a programme, policy or practice, our approach is to:
- Do this with you, not for you
- we work with your expertise about the needs, history, context and/or innovation
- we are outsiders/insiders, bringing both objectivity and helpful challenge
- we don’t do the implementation ourselves
- Advise on what you should do, why and how
- Help through all, or only specific, implementation stages, depending on your needs and expertise
- Actively build capacity of your leaders, staff and teams involved in implementation, so that implementation skills stay in the organisation after CES support
CES can also provide an active implementation support role and function.
