Implementation: An Introduction for researchers

This introductory course is suitable for researchers working on topics related to Public Health, social sciences and policy, who want to improve the societal value and impact of their research.  

What will I learn? 

This course is a look at the theoretical basis for implementation. By completing the course participants will be able to: 

  • formulate research questions or hypotheses using different types of implementation frameworks.
  • Evaluate and apply implementation frameworks to research-based evidence for translation into practice.
  • Articulate and defend their chosen implementation strategy to build knowledge translation into study design and conduct. 

Upon completion, participants will receive a CES Certificate and membership of the Implementation Network of Ireland and Northern Ireland. 

What will be covered?

Session 1 – Introduction to key components of Implementation

Session 2 - Building your toolbox - Theories, Models, and Frameworks

Session 3 – The Hexagon tool

Session 4 - Creating the environment for change

Sessions begin 7th February 2025

  • 7th March

Sessions will be 3.5 hours each and will take place online, between 1pm and 4:30pm.

How much does it cost?

  • Course fee: €1000 per participant
  • Discount is available to researchers from voluntary and community sector organisations.
