Brenda is a civil servant in the Department of Finance, where she is Head of the Anti-Money Laundering Unit in the Financial Services Division and Head of the Irish Delegation to the Financial Action Task Force.
She has also previously held a number of roles in the public, private and semi-State sectors, including as Secretary to the Child Abuse Commission, Chief Operations Officer in the Tax Appeals Commission, Director on the Board of the Housing Finance Agency and NED.
Brenda was also CEO of Care Ireland Ltd, which provided therapeutic and residential care for children and young people who had experienced significant trauma. As such, Brenda has considerable governance and compliance experience and is also currently a trustee of the Board of Hand in Hand, a charity which this year was named the National Lottery ‘Good Cause of the Year’.
