Rachael McAleenon

Graduate

Rachael has experience and knowledge of working in research, with a background in nutrition and public health. She has joined CES as part of the graduate programme, with an aspiration to support the improvement of services through evidence-based research across the island of Ireland.

Rachael completed a systematic review as part of her Master of Public Health, looking at preconception care interventions and their feasibility for implementation. Rachael has also worked as a research intern at the Nutrition Innovation Centre for Food and Health (NICHE) where she contributed to various research projects, including a randomised control trial exploring the bioavailability of vitamin D biofortified pork, addressing a possible pathway to increase vitamin D intake in the human population.
