‘One failed, one flourished, one folded’ - Applying implementation science theory to practice

Tom Jefford is Head of Service for Youth Support in Cambridgeshire County Council in England. He has been involved in implementation for over fifteen years, including implementing an evidence based programme, Multi Systemic Therapy (MST), in a number of areas in England. Tom is a qualified social worker and is currently undertaking a professional doctorate in implementation science.

In November 2016, Tom spoke to the Implementation Network for Ireland and Northern Ireland about his research and experience of implementing evidence based practice. In this recording, he talks about some of the challenges in implementing evidence based practice, and some of the factors that make it successful. In particular he talks about the importance of leadership.
