This better practice guide was developed jointly by the Australian National Audit Office and the Australian Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet in October 2006. It focuses mainly on the planning and development stages of implementation leading up to an initiative being delivered. The guide presents key questions for managers regarding several areas of implementation, including: risk management; implementation planning; and monitoring and review. The guide is intended for, and most relevant to, public sector chief executives and senior officers responsible for overseeing the implementation of initiatives.
